Who operates MyRecipeBox

MyRecipeBox is operated by Don Hermes. This Privacy Policy applies to the MyRecipeBox mobile application, the website at MyRecipeBox.cooking, and related services.

Information we collect

We collect information that you provide, create, upload, or generate while using MyRecipeBox. This may include:

• Your username, email address, password credentials, and account settings.
• Recipes, ingredients, instructions, notes, categories, nutrition details, and other recipe information.
• Recipe photos and other images you choose to upload or take with your device.
• Photos, PDFs, Word documents, website links, and other source material submitted to AI features.
• AI-generated results, saved drafts, feature usage, plan limits, and AI credit usage.
• Support messages and other communications you send to us.
• Subscription, purchase, and billing-status information.
• Technical information such as IP address, browser or device type, operating system, session activity, and security logs.

Payment-card information is handled by the applicable payment processor, such as Apple, Google, or Stripe. MyRecipeBox does not receive or store your complete payment-card number.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Create, authenticate, and protect your account.
• Save, organize, search, edit, and display your recipes.
• Provide AI Recipe Import, Dish Breakdown, nutrition estimates, and AI-created recipe photos.
• Process files, photos, and links you submit to requested features.
• Track plan limits, purchases, subscriptions, and AI credit usage.
• Respond to questions, support requests, and account-deletion requests.
• Detect fraud, abuse, security threats, and technical problems.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve MyRecipeBox.
• Comply with legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.

AI features and third-party processing

When you choose to use an AI feature, the photos, documents, recipe information, links, prompts, or other material required for that feature may be sent to an AI service provider, including OpenAI, to generate the result you requested.

Do not submit confidential personal information or material that you do not have permission to use. AI results may be inaccurate and should be reviewed before you save or rely on them.

AI-generated ingredients, allergens, cooking instructions, temperatures, and nutrition values are estimates. They are not medical, dietary, allergy, or food-safety advice.

Cookies and similar technologies

The MyRecipeBox website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the website working, remember preferences, maintain secure sessions, understand website activity, prevent fraud, and support other features.

Cookies and similar technologies may include:

• Essential cookies needed for sign-in, security, account functions, and basic website operation.
• Preference cookies that remember settings and choices.
• Analytics cookies that help us understand website use and improve performance, when enabled.
• Advertising cookies used to deliver, measure, or personalize advertising, if advertising is enabled.

Our cookie notification explains the choices available when you visit the website. You may also limit or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent some parts of MyRecipeBox from working correctly.

Advertising

MyRecipeBox may display advertising on the website or in the mobile application in the future. If advertising is enabled, advertising providers may process information such as your IP address, device or browser information, advertising identifiers, general location derived from your IP address, and interactions with advertisements.

Depending on your choices and applicable law, advertisements may be contextual, limited or non-personalized, or personalized. MyRecipeBox will request consent or system tracking permission before using information for personalized advertising or tracking where required.

Declining personalized advertising or tracking will not prevent you from using MyRecipeBox’s core features, although you may still see contextual or non-personalized advertisements.

MyRecipeBox does not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws may define certain personalized advertising activities as “sharing” or a “sale.” If those activities are introduced, we will provide any notices and opt-out controls required by applicable law.

Newsletter and marketing email

MyRecipeBox may offer an optional newsletter or other promotional email signup in the future. If you choose to subscribe, we may collect your email address, name, and communication preferences.

Creating a MyRecipeBox account will not automatically subscribe you to optional marketing emails. Marketing messages will include an unsubscribe link, and you may unsubscribe at any time.

After unsubscribing, you may still receive necessary account, security, billing, purchase, or service-related messages.

Service providers and sharing

We disclose information only when needed to provide MyRecipeBox, fulfill your request, protect the service, or comply with law. Recipients may include:

• Website hosting, storage, database, security, and technical-service providers.
• OpenAI and other providers used to perform AI features you request.
• Email and customer-support providers.
• Payment and subscription providers, including Apple, Google, and Stripe.
• Analytics or advertising providers, if those services are enabled.
• Government authorities or other parties when disclosure is legally required or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
• A successor owner if MyRecipeBox is involved in a sale, transfer, merger, or similar business transaction.

We require third-party providers that receive user information to provide the same or equivalent protection described in this policy and to process information only for the services they provide.

Data retention and deletion

Account and recipe information is generally retained while your account remains active. Temporary AI drafts and uploaded source files are removed when they are no longer needed to provide the requested feature or maintain service integrity.

Security, transaction, tax, dispute, unsubscribe, and legal records may be retained when reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, accounting, chargeback handling, legal compliance, or the establishment and defense of legal claims. Backup copies may take additional time to expire.

You may request permanent account deletion from Account > Privacy, support, and account > Delete account inside the mobile app or follow the account deletion instructions. Verified deletion requests are normally completed within 30 days.

Deleting the MyRecipeBox application from your device does not delete your account.

Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent or object to certain uses of your information.

• Update account and recipe information through MyRecipeBox.
• Request account deletion through the app or account deletion page.
• Unsubscribe from optional marketing emails using the link in the message.
• Manage cookie choices through the website notice and browser settings.
• Use device settings to manage camera, photo-library, advertising, and tracking permissions.

To submit a privacy request, email support@myrecipebox.cooking. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Security

MyRecipeBox uses HTTPS, authenticated API access, secure device storage for mobile session credentials, access controls, and reasonable administrative and technical safeguards.

No internet service or storage system can guarantee complete security. Contact us promptly if you believe your account or information has been compromised.

Children’s privacy

MyRecipeBox is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so that we can review and remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as MyRecipeBox, our providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date and, when appropriate, an in-app or email notice.
